listing shows how whole human lives are summed up my marks on the Koran- a piece of paper- showing importance of nature
alt= gives respect on paper as it is protrayed to transcend human life as when you are dead, the onlty memories of you are on a piece of paper- human power futile
‘r—- … r———’
roads…. railtracks
blunt alliteration shows her disdain for human structures, indicating that human power is damaging- juxtaposed with natural imagery makes human structures seem insignificant
alt= creates a flowing effect driving the poem forward just as humans have driven society forward (bad interpretation)
‘might f– our l—- like p—– k—-‘
might fly our lives like paper kites
on face value = shpows the importance that humans place on money
when we delvee deeper = shows the insignificance of human power- ironic that they are controlled by tiny strips of paper with numbers on them. mocking how such a powerful species are controlled by tiny fragments of nature- the paper kites.
light:
‘the — shines’
‘——– breaks through c——-‘
The sun shines …
Daylight breaks through the capitals

last liine = clear message to reader to remind us that we are all influenced by heritage
alt - adressed to a child
power of nature
- controls human- fly our lives like paper kites use alt- shows importance of money on one hand. on the other acts as an ironic stateent as humans decide what they can do by tiny pieces of paper. both amalgamate to show that nature can control humans
- excedes human power- sun shines through / daylight breaks - eternal image of light breaks border lines and boundaries placed on maps
- outlasts humans- sepia date- quran. on face value just shows that humans will be remembered on paper, devle deeper and used to show how speia paper will transcend humans forever
compare to Ozy
nature > humans: decay of statue- nature overcome
outlasts. lone and level stretch far away- insignificance of humans
nature control humans- shatter’d visage immediately makes people think bad of Ozymandias- implies him being a terrible ruler- nature can shape the way we think. although ozy bad- how can we be sure
