It’s when Kennedy approved a plan to invade Cuba but lost to over 20,000 heavily armed Cuban troops to their 1,400 Cuban exiles
What was the Cuban Missiles?
It’s when USA sent U-2 Spy planes to discover soviet missiles in Cuba and then created a naval blockade around Cuba to prevent further missiles from reaching the island
What did Kennedy with his naval blockade?
He stood his ground and sent a letter telling Khrushchev that if he didn’t turn his ships around and remove to Cuban Missiles he (USA) would declare war
What did Khrushchev say to Kennedys letter?
He said he’ll withdraw his Cuban missiles if USA removed their Turkish Missiles and that same day he shot down a U-2 Spy plane
What was the Cuban missile outcome?
They both removed their missiles and Kennedy removed his naval blockade
