Blood clot in the lung usually originated in smaller vessels in the legs,pelvis arms or heart and traveling to the lung where it becomes wedged in a vessel too small to allow it to pass causing that portion of the lung to die from lack of oxygen
Pulmonary embolism
A device that measures the amount of oxygen in the blood
Pulse oximeter
Condition found usually in premature babies which causes their lungs to collapse on expiration (breathing out)
Respiratory distress syndrome
The amount of air that moves in and out of the lungs during different intensities of breathing. Measurements are used to assess the health of the respiratory system

Illness characterized by fever and nonproductive cough that progresses until insufficient oxygen in presented in the blood
