• Under direction of Command Chief
• On citywide basis when lg # personal harness and/or PSS OOS
• Structural fire/NFP Bldg/3 Sty OR Greater = 1st & 2nd Roof bring LSR to roof
• FP Residential (e.g. Apt. House, nursing home, Sr. citizen housing, dorms) = Bring LSR to Fl. Above
• 1st Roof carry LSR to position & do duties as per SOP
• 2nd Roof. “. “. “. “. & immed I.D. Poss subs objects & position LSR @ that loc for poss use
  
  • Also position LSR of 1st Roof @ subs object (diff one if avail)
  • After doing this, then do assigned duties
• LSR NOT removed from carry case EXCEPT for actual rescue & removal ops.
• 2 Roof FF’s maintain their position UNTIL IC declares “PWH” OR IC informs M’s to either Evac roof OR that their services on roof No longer required
  **PREFERRED METHOD for removal of distressed M w/personal harness is single slide via LSR from above
  **Not wearing Personal Harness = 2 Roof FF’s do lowering op
  **THIS IS LAST RESORT!!
• Single slide not used to make rescue p/u
• IC announce on HT if Roof level team no longer in place when removed from roof (OR Floor above in FPMD).
  
  • IC ensure roof duties (searches) assigned to other M’s

• Vertical Object - Chimney OR DW BH = Allow rope to drop to base, close to roof= Optimum strength at this point
• Sheet metal housings for roof vents, newel posts OR banisters = NOT RELIABLE
• BH, AL, Around chimney, cut hole/rope around beam = RELIABLE
