What’s desensitisation?

A

Under controlled conditions pps looked at pics of snakes . Once the aroussl levels had fallen they were put in the same room with snakes 🐍. Eventually pps could handle them

The second feat scored were significantly lower and the coping prevention scored were significantly higher

A

Desentisation works : experiment supports the concept of self efficacy -cause activities lead to change in perceptions

Self efficacy is both a cognitive and behavioural concept

Desensitisation comes from associating the snake with nothing happening (classical conditioning )
