What two important issues were settled by the Civil War?

A

Before the war, some states believed that since they voluntarily joined the Union, they could leave when they chose. Other states believed theUnion could not be divided. The Civl War settled that argument; no state could leave the Union. The second important issue was that of slavery. The end of the Civil War also brought about the end of slavery.
