A

Pre-flight
-Secure in Bracket, Ring pin intact, Arrow in green section of pressure gauge.

Operation
- Remove from backet.
- P - Pull the pin
- A - Aim at base of the fire
- S - Squeeze the lever
- S - Sweep the flames

1.5m-2m Range
8-10 second duration
PBE should be worn

A

Pre-Flight
-Present and correct number of spares

Operation
- Remove from pouch
- Place over head, pass harness around waist and fasten.
- To tighten pull strap.
- To inflate pull red toggle.
(If no inflate, or too inflated) - use tubes on side.

Location
- At each passenger seat
- FWD RHS O/Head Locker
- AFT RHS O/Head Locker

A

Pre-flight
- Present and correct number

Operation
- Same as adult lifejacket, put infant arms through armholes and secure straps.

What are the pre-flight requirements, and operation of the Megaphone?

A

Pre-Flight
-Secured & Present

Operation
- Squeeze handle which will flex, speak loud and clear.
- Adjust volume knob as required, carry via the neck strap.
- For siren pull out pin (handle must be released to sound), replace pin to cancel siren.

What are the pre-flight requirements, and operation of the PBE?

A

Pre-flight
- Tamper Seal is intact
- Humidity indicator in Blue (Pink U/S)
- Secured in Location

Operation
- Pull tear off strip, unravel and hold by handles, pull apart to activate generators
- Listen for flow of oxygen, then don and adjust neck seal
- After operation/ end of service indicator remove and dispose as DG

Duration - 15mins (Oxygen flows for 8-10mins)

What are the pre-flight requirements, and operation of the Portable Oxygen Cylinder?

A

Pre-flight
- Secured, Pressure gauge on green line, oxygen mask attached.

Operation
- Remove from backet, and remove mask from bag.
- Attach mask and turn on cylinder fully till the 4 is clearly displayed.
- Fit oxygen mask.
- After use, remove mask, turn off oxygen and restow.

A

Pre-Flight
- Hold press to test and reset, while simultaneously pressing emergency press to test on mask and hear for oxy flow over speaker.
- Check Oxygen bottle pressure sufficient on EICAS.

A

Pre-Flight
- Present, secure in location at S16 Stowage

Operation
- Pull out the antenna and extend it
- Press the ON/OFF button, or pull the lanyard to activate beacon
(A beep indicates that the PLB is on, and Beacon LED will flash)
A green GPS LED flash indicates Satellite Data.

- Night side - Rough Side - Produces red sparks.

-Unscrew cap on applicable side
- Point flare downwind and away from face/body
