Insertion: aponeurosis into linea alba
Innervation: Ant. rami of T7-T12

Function of 3 sheet like abdo muscles?
A
- Compresses the abdomen and increases intra-abdominal pressure to aid expiration and evacuation of faeces, urine and parturition, heavy lifting.
- Supports viscera - guards the intestines
- Flex and rotate the trunk

Inguinal ligament: formation and location?
A
Formation: Rolling inwards of the lower aponeurotic border of the external oblique.
Location: It extends from the anterior superior iliac spine (ASIS) to the pubic tubercle

Internal oblique
A
Origin: Thoracolumbar fascia, iliac crest between origin of external and transversus, lateral 2/3 of inguinal ligament
Insertion: Inf. border of lower 3/4 ribs, aponeurosis end in linea alba, conjoint tendon inserts into pubic crest and pectineal line
Innervation: Ant. rami of T7-T12
