Respiratory alkalosis symptoms

A

Seizures, deep rapid breathing, hyperventilating, tachycardia, low or normal bp, hypokalemia, numbness/tingling of extremities, lethargy, confusion, light headedness, n/v.

A

HA, decreased BP, hyperkalemia, muscle twitching, warm flushed skin (caused by vasodilation), n/v/d, changes in LOC, kussmaul respirations (compensatory hyperventilation).

Restlessness followed by lethargy, tachycardia, compensatory hypoventilation, confusion, low LOC, dizziness, irritability, n/v/d, tremors, muscle cramps, tingling of fingers & toes, hypokalemia.

A

Rapid, shallow breathing. Low bp with vasodilation. Dyspnea, HA, hyperkalemia, dysthymia (because of high k), drowsiness, dizziness, confusion, muscle weakness, hyperreflexia.
