What are the rules for (i) adjectives?

(i) Adjectives are those which end in the character for i.

(ii) There is no need to pair with a particle when using to describe a noun.

(iii) Negative expression of (i) adjective. Drop the i sound and replace with kunai.

(iv) Past tense expression of (i) adjective. Use words katta and kunakatta.

(v) Exceptions - kirei and yuumei are both (na) adjectives.

(i) (Na) adjectives are those which end in any character other than i.

(ii) When describing a noun use na in between.

(iii) Negative/Positive expression. Use desu, ja arimasen, deshita, ja arimasendeshita.

(iv) Past tense expression. Use deshita and ja arimasendeshita.

(v) Exceptions - kirei and yuumei are both (na) adjectives.
