Islam teaches that we have free will and god will hold us accountable for our decisions on judgement day

Humans are not puppets; we have the ability to choose right from wrong

God wants us to choose the straight path but it’s up to us to lake right choices

Central to Islamic belief is that life is a test and we need to learn to turn away from evil for example with ibrihim and isaac

Both believe god is all powerful and has a master plan for the universe

However Sunnis put more emphasis on everything is ordained by god. Humans have free will but nothing happens without the will and knowledge of god

Shias more emphasis on humans free will. Some reject predestination as they say god cannot be responsible for evil. Humans must have free will to be independent of gods authority
