Q

What is the MRC scale and what do the scores mean?

A

The MRC scale is a way of grading muscle strength (for example if we want to check if the spinal nerve supplying that muscle is still working)

Scores:
0 - no movement
1 - muscle belly moves but joint doesn't
2 - joint moves if gravity is eliminated
3 - joint moves against gravity
4 - joint moves against gravity + some extra resistance
5 - full strength
