Hamazatul Wasl

A

An Alif with a Hamza

A connecting Hamza that is pronounced at the beginning of a word, e.g, اَسْتَغْفِرُ اللّٰة

It is dropped in pronunciation when preceded by another word (becomes silent).
E.g. اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰة وَاسْتَغْفِرُ للّٰة

Particles which change the state of a noun فِي - In عَلَي - On مِنْ - From إلَي - To When the above particles appear before a noun it changes the state of the noun from مَرْفُوْع ( ُ ) to مَجْرُوْرِ ( ِّ ) Dhammah to Kasrah

What is a مِعْرَب?
Declinable word A word where the harakah's change e.g. بَيْتٌ can change to اَلْبَيْتُ or to اَلْبَيْتِ

?مَبْنِيْ What is a
An indeclinable word The harakahs never change on such letters. Includes the حَرْفِ جَرًّ , ذٰلِكَ , اِسْمُ لْاِشَرَ E.g. َذٰلِك would not change to ذٰلِكِ once a particle is placed before it because it is an indeclinable word.

What does a حَرْف جَرْ always have a relationship to?
مَجْرُوْرِ You can’t have a جَرْ without it being followed by a مَجْرُوْر
