Ariana A1 Math Flashcards
parallel
lines that never cross and are the same distance apart and may go on forever (will not cross if they go on & on)
arc
part of a circle that represents an angle between two intersecting lines.
angles
when lines intersect they form angles and angles are the spaces or shapes that are formed between the intersecting lines -they meet at a vertex name angles by names of points
<= angle symbol
perpendicular
lines that form square corners when they intersect + they form right angles.
right angles
+ the angles that are square =lines that form it are perpendicular and the angle measures 90* *= degrees
intersection
when lines cross they cross at a point called an intersection x
acute angles
Angles that are less than a right angle ; less than 90*
obtuse angles
angles greater than a right angle; greater than 90*
straight angle
straight line- two rays pointing in opposite directions.
complementary (angles)
two angles that form an right angle are called complementary angles.
supplementary (angles)
two angles combine to form a straight angle 180*
vertex
the point where two rays meet.
congruent
having the same measure
degrees
a measurement used to measure angles (small amount) symbol =*
protractor
a tool that measures angles.
