Q

Explain obstructive

A

a/w obstruction dt mucus plug etc. air is trapped and absorbed into capillaries = lung collapse

Q

explain contraction

A

usually associated with injury. Scar tissue forms and contracts the lung tissue causing it to collapse. it is the hardest to reverse

Treatment

A

address the cause (tumor, mucus plug)
