Behavior Q's Flashcards

1
Q

What’s your biggest weakness?

A

Sometimes I don’t ask enough questions so instead of asking for help I try to sit and figure it out on my own.

“One area that I have been working on improving is my tendency to try and figure things out on my own instead of seeking help or clarification when needed. I have recognized that this can lead to missed opportunities for learning and growth, and can also result in unnecessary frustration or delays. I am now making a conscious effort to ask more questions and seek guidance when needed, as I believe this will not only help me to better understand tasks and responsibilities, but also allow me to collaborate more effectively with others. I am confident that this will be a valuable skill as I continue to grow and develop in my career.”

Q

Do you have any questions for us?

A

“What do you see as the main challenges and opportunities for this role in the next year, and how do you envision my contributions as a financial analyst helping to address them?”

or

“Yes, I do have a few questions. First, could you provide more information about the specific responsibilities and expectations for this role as a financial analyst? I am eager to understand how my skills and experience can contribute to the company’s financial goals. Additionally, I would love to know more about the company’s culture and values, and how they shape the way you do business. I am excited about the opportunity to join your team and make a meaningful contribution, and I want to make sure I have a clear understanding of the role and the company’s expectations. Is there anything else you think I should know about the company or the role that would be helpful for me to consider?”

Q

What was your greatest failure?

A

“One experience that stands out to me as a failure was during my second year, when my team and I presented our final assignment. We had put a lot of effort into creating an impressive presentation that we thought would stand out and potentially win an award for the best presentation. Unfortunately, due to a misunderstanding on our team, we made a mistake on the first page headline that resulted in an unpleasant scenario. While it was certainly a disappointing and embarrassing moment, I have since learned a great deal from this experience and have made it a habit to double-check information to avoid similar mistakes in the future. This incident taught me the importance of thorough communication and attention to detail, and I believe it has made me a stronger and more reliable team member as a result.”

Q

What was a moment that you felt under pressure and how did you overcome it?

A

During my final year of graduation, I found myself under a lot of pressure as I had multiple responsibilities to juggle. I had to prepare for my final exams and term end project, collaborate with others on a business simulation, and also study for my CFA examination. To overcome this pressure, I found ways to streamline my workload and manage my time effectively. Specifically, I combined the syllabus from my University studies with my CFA studies, so I could cover multiple subjects at once. I also delegated tasks to others and focused on completing my own responsibilities, which helped me stay on track and avoid feeling overwhelmed. Overall, I was able to successfully navigate through this challenging period by staying organized and focused.

Q

How have you dealt with a negative customer experience in the past?

A

Not directly but I have faced it In the past, I had a negative customer experience when I received an incorrect party order from a food delivery startup. I was disappointed because the order was supposed to be a surprise and the mistake ruined that. When I tried to reach out to customer support, it was difficult to get through to a real person and the process was frustrating. When I finally spoke with an executive, they apologized and then ended the chat, which left me feeling uncomfortable. In hindsight, I think I would have handled the situation differently. I would have stayed calm and tried to resolve the issue through the company’s support portal, apologized for the mistake, confirmed the issue with my team, and offered a solution to the customer to make things right.

Q

working with KPIs?

A

In my limited experience, I have had the opportunity to work with key performance indicators (KPIs) in a few different contexts. For example, in university, I participated in a team project where we had to sell a cool drink on a sunny day and increase revenue for our team. Our KPIs were based on how much each of us could sell in a day, and the team member who outperformed the others received recognition. I worked hard to sell as many drinks as possible and nearly outperformed my teammates. This experience demonstrated my ability to understand and work towards specific goals and keep up with KPIs.

Q

What was the most challenging professional experience you had to date and how did you overcome it?

A

The most challenging professional experience I’ve had to date was during my first internship at Finlatics. I was given an assignment by a team member to evaluate business proposals and their financial metrics, but I initially struggled to understand the information. However, I was determined to succeed and spent extra time reading and studying other proposals to improve my understanding. As I gained more knowledge and familiarity with the material, I was able to complete the assignment more efficiently and without the help of my senior. My hard work paid off as the company was impressed with my performance. This experience taught me the importance of persistence and the value of taking the time to thoroughly understand a task before tackling it.

Q

Can you handle stress?

A

Yes, I am able to handle stress effectively. I have proven this to myself in the past when I had to manage four different tasks simultaneously during my university studies. I was able to successfully complete everything by prioritizing my responsibilities and efficiently delegating tasks to my team members. This allowed me to focus on my own work and get everything done in a timely and efficient manner. Overall, I believe I have strong personal efficiency skills that enable me to handle stress and manage multiple tasks effectively.
