Mental illnesses are caused by faulty genes
What does the biological approach suggest ?
Any mental condition had a physical cause and abnormal behaviours e.g hallucinations are symptoms of mental health
If you have first degree relative with schizophrenia how likely are you to develop the disorder ?
Your are 10% more likely to develop the disorder , the normal percent is 1

Their ventricles seem to be larger
What is Alzhemias caused by?
Loss of brain cells
Explain Neurotransmitter’s in abnormality
Too much or too little of Neurotransmitter’s can cause abnormality
People with schizophrenia have low levels of ….
Serotonin
Excessive amounts of ……….. have been linked with schizophrenia
Dopamine
What’s the problem in the Neurotransmitter’s theory in terms of depression ?
You don’t know if it’s the change in the level of dopamine that causes depression or the depression that cause the change in dopamine
