Tundra

A

A Tundra is a biome that is commonly formed in the Northern Hemisphere circumnavigating the Arctic. They sometimes form in the Southern Hemisphere but these conditions are usually too cold so the land is covered in snow and ice anyway. A Tundra has frozen subsurface conditions meaning that no trees can grow there.

Grasslands

A

Grassland biomes are often extremely large fields of grass, herbs and flowers. The soil of grasslands are often too fine, dry and soft for trees to survive. A lot of drought and fire often goes through grasslands but grasslands can survive bushfires where trees can’t.
