Q

where does natural resources come from?
how can natural resources form?
how can natural products be replaced give an example
what does agriculture provide eg?

A

-Natural resources come from earth, sea and air.Examples cotton for clothing oil for fuel.
-They can form without human input
-They can be replaced by synthetic products or improved upon by man-made processes.Example rubber is a natural product extracted from sap of the tree. However man made polymers have now been made which can replace rubber in uses such as tyre’s
-Agriculture provides conditions where natural resources can be enhanced for our needs eg development of fertiliser’s means you can produce a high yield of crops

Q

what is renewable resources and eg?
what is finite non renewable resources and examples’s?
what happens to non-renewable resources after they have been extracted?

A

-Renewable resources reform at a similar rate to,or faster than,we use them eg timber, fresh food and water
-Finite resources aren’t formed quickly enough to be considered replaceable.
They include:
-Fossil fuels
-Nuclear fuels such as uranium and plutonium
-Minerals and metals found in ores in the earth
-After finite resources get extracted many undergo man-made processes to provide fuels and materials necessary for modern life

Q

what risk finite resources have?

A

-for mining metal ores is bad for the environment uses loads of energy scars the landscape produces lots of waste destroys habitats

Q

how to interpet information about different resources in the graph?

A

-By suggesting which one is renewable and non-renewable
-finite takes lots of time whereas renewable takes short but faster than finite
