Q

Engine Start Considerations

A
  1. Before any starting, check temp below 175 MGT. Additionally, wait 60 secs after starter re- engagement.
  2. NG-zero for restart attempts.
  3. Limit engine Power during Gnd Ops to ground idle with oil temp < 0 degrees C and to 1000 HP with oil temp < 45 degrees C.

19
Q

Oil Pressure for cold engine?

A

Gearbox oil pressure >250 allowed until oil temps are >45 deg C

20
Q

Starter duty cycle?

A

70 seconds on, 60 seconds off for five cycles then a 20 minute cooling time is required

21
Q

Maximum speed for transitioning the power levers from flight Idle to high-speed ground Idle?

A

145 kts
Speeds greater than 145 could result in a propeller overspeed with subsequent generator loss and momentary asymmetric thrust
