What are the steps to closing the boarding door?

A

Stop, drop, review. Grab assist handle, pull gust lock, grab door operating handle, pull close and turn handle clockwise, check green light door locked indicator, flip open plastic door mode indicator covering, move arming lever from green to red and look for sliding man illumination, close plastic cover, turn to check across at opposite door and see if door is armed and locked, meet CM half way, thumbs up, “slides armed, cross checked”

A

Potable water is supplied to galley sinks and various galley inserts, galleys have a sink with a faucet, a charcoal water filter is installed, potable water can be checked on the CAP by SCCM

A

It is a knob that stops the flow of water to the galley, it has a placard and a clear on/off position.

What is the Galley Waste System?

A

The galley waste system is the sink waste water that drains into one of two waste tanks. Do not put solids in the sink as it may clog it and dilute things that may become curdled.

What is the Gray Water Interface Valve (GWIV) Manual Override Switch?

A

The GWIV automatically drains the sink when it is near capacity, CM can manually drain sink with this button located on the galley electrical panel.

A

It is a hydraulic compaction system that safely manages inflight trash storage.

What do you do when the water won’t shut off, and what do you do when there is a blockage?

A

Turn the water shut off valve to close, with a blockage position clog removal valve to close and hold it and then press the GWIV switch and the blockage should clear.

How do you unlock/lock the lavatory door from the outside?

A

First you pull external handle open, then locate the small pin behind the latch handle, slide pin horizontally. Lights indicate the status of door, also appears on the CAP.

How do you convert single lavatory to double for wheelchair access?

A

Retrieve the key from from 4R, code 5512, go to lavatory and enter to inner wall and put key in panel and turn counterclockwise 360 degrees, turn latch lever clockwise 90 degrees, then turn key clockwise 360 degrees to remove key. Open access panel and fold to clear space and you hear a click. Lock the right lavatory door.

A

There are 4 settings: full open, faucet, toilet, and close. Some lavatories may have two valves.

A

Audio and visual alarms can be cleared up by using the smoke detector horn cancel switch or call light/reset switch on outside of lavatory
