what are some antenatal, perinatal and postnatal causes of learning disability
antenatal- genetic e.g. phenylketonuria, fetal alcohol syndrome, fetal rubella, antenatal smoking/drug use
perinatal- neonatal hypoxia, birth trauma, hypoglycaemia, prematurity
postnatal- social deprivation, malnutrition, meningitis, head injurt
What are the 3 clinical presentations in autism spectrum disorder
- poor reciprocal social interaction- tend to play alone, poor attachments, odd eye contact
- communication abnormalities- concrete thinking, absent gestures, echolalia
- restricted behaviours and routines- repetitive behaviours and specific interests
What is primary and secondary enuresis
primary- toilet training was never masteres usually due to delayed maturation of bladder’s innervation or generalised delay
secondary- dryness was achieved for a year then lost, usually stress-related
What is the triad of ADHD
- hyperactivity
- inattention
- impulsivity
What is conduct disorder
Conduct disorder is a serious behavioral and emotional disorder that can occur in children and teens. A child with this disorder may display a pattern of disruptive and violent behavior and have problems following rules
