A

antenatal- genetic e.g. phenylketonuria, fetal alcohol syndrome, fetal rubella, antenatal smoking/drug use
perinatal- neonatal hypoxia, birth trauma, hypoglycaemia, prematurity
postnatal- social deprivation, malnutrition, meningitis, head injurt

  1. poor reciprocal social interaction- tend to play alone, poor attachments, odd eye contact
  2. communication abnormalities- concrete thinking, absent gestures, echolalia
  3. restricted behaviours and routines- repetitive behaviours and specific interests

A

primary- toilet training was never masteres usually due to delayed maturation of bladder’s innervation or generalised delay
secondary- dryness was achieved for a year then lost, usually stress-related
