what is the difference between typical and atypical angina

A
  • people with typical angina have:
    • constricting discomfort in the front of the chest, neck, shoulders, jaw or arms
    • precipitated by physical exertion
    • relieved by rest or GTN in about five minutes
  • people with atypical angina have two of the above pain features.

A
  • 12 lead ecg
  • troponins
  • FBC - exclude anaemia
  • TFTs - hyperthyroidism increases work of heart and hypothyroidism is associated with high cholesterol
