Management of a Tricuspid/Pulmonary valve problem on an ECHO?

These are fairly common.

Often don’t have any pathological impact + so little is done about them.

a) Metallic valve
b) Tissue valve

A

a) Metallic: INR 3-4 (usually mitral valve replaced w/metallic)
b) Tissue: INR 2.5-3.5

Are DOAC’s indicated for AF w/ replacement Mitral or Aortic Valve, or if there is mitral/aortic valve pathology?
If yes/no, why?

A

NOT INDICATED! Because their anti-coagulant effect is not enough.
Instead –> need warfarin!!
