- many jobs were lost as 30,000 fishing boats were destroyed
- crops were destroyed therefore farmers can’t make money
- roads become blocked so people couldn’t commute to work
How did it effect people’s education and livelihood
Jobs were lost, hospitals were damaged, shops and schools were destroyed

-1200 evacuation centres were set up for the homeless
- the uk government sent shelter kits
- the Philippines Red Cross delivered food aid
What are 3 long term responses
- cyclone shelters have been built in coastal areas
- the rebuildings of roads bridges schools and homes
- aid agencies (Oxfam) supported the replacement of fishing boats
