Causation is a way of establishing who committed the Actus Reus.

A
Factual Causation is the ‘but for test’ - but for the defendants actions would the result have happened anyway?

Legal Causation is if a significant contribution was made. The defendant must be more than a slight or trifling link to the crime. They do not have to be the sole cause.
