Cellwall Flashcards
Cell wall
The cell wall is the outside layer of a cell that hold everything in place.
Specialised cell
A specialised cell is a type of cell that is used for one purpose. It is specialised for its own job.
Vacuole
A vacuole is is a vesicle inside the cytoplasms of a cell. It contains fluid
Magnification
Magnification is magnifying something
Red blood cell adaptation
They are protein that combine with oxygen. They contain no nucleus so that they can contain more haemoglobin.
Nerve cell adaptation
The nerve has many adaptations which allow it to carry out necessary functions
Diffusion
Diffusion Is the spreading of something more widely.
Organism
An organism is something that lives and breathes off of oxygen. They also have cells.
Chloroplasts
It is in plant cells which contain chlorophyll where photosynthesis happens
Nucleus
The nucleus is the central and most important thing in a cell. It contains the DNA. DNA-deoxyribonucleic acid.
Microscope
A microscope is a piece of equipment that you use to observe cells.
Egg cell adaptations
They are called haploid cells rather that diploid cells. A single egg cell is called and ovum. Together, egg and sperm cells are called sex cells. Eggs and sperm have several important adaptations linked to their structure.
Rate of diffusion
The rate ofdiffusion is is the rate of gas spreading to a low concentration area.
Cytoplasm
Cytoplasm is a thick solution that fills each cell and Is enclosed by the cell membrane.
Specimen
A specimen is the object that you observe through a microscope
