- Anyeruism in Cavernous Sinus can cause Horners because of loss of Postganglionic Sympathetics

Anterior communicating connects two sides
Medial and superior Fronatal and Parietal
Medial Striate are branches, artery of Huebner to Putamen and caudate

-Leg, foot, urinary bladder motor and sensory
-Septal Area (Pleasure zone, part of limbic)

-Some motor planning anterior to precentral gyrus
-Corpus Collosum
-Putamen and Caudate via medial striate via artery of huebner

A
- Begins as stem giving off lenticulostriate before branching into superior and inferior branchces
- Common site of embolism and thrombus
- Motor and sensory to Face and Arms (superior branch) as well as parts of corticospinal and corticobulbar
- Speech
- Emotions
- 3D perception
- Optic Radiations

MCA Stem
A
- Gives off lenticulostriate arteries that are susceptible to HTN through hemorrhage or occlusion
- LS are end arteries that supple BG (Putamen and Caudate) and Internal Capsule

Superior MCA (suprasylvian)
A
- Motor and sensory for Face and arms
- Broccas Area dominant side (speech motor)
- Frontal Eye fields (saccadic and pursuit)
- Emotions on non-dominant side
- 3D perceptions
- Corticobulbar and corticospinal tracts

Inferior MCA
A
- Wernikces area on dominant side (speech sensory)
- Emotions on non-dominant side
- 3D perceptions
- Optic radiations, especially superior quadrant on collateral side

A
- Supply:
- Upper Cervical Cord
- Brainstem and Cerebellum
- Thalamus and Hypothalamus
- Posterior Parietal, Medial and posterior temporal/occipital

- Superior Cervical to Adamkewicz
- Medial medulla (Pyramidal tracts and spinothalamic) P/T and Motor

- Reticular, Cardiovascular, Balance, Pain/Temp
- Damage can cause coma and death.

- Midbrain, Reticular, 3rd nerve, Red nucleus ( motor coordination and rubrospinal tract)
