-SOCIOECONOMIC HEALTH GAP .Low SES accelerates aging process .Accumulation of factors: Diet, illness, stress .More likely to smoke, drink, not exercise, eat poorly .Job Stress .Affluent live 5 years longer -ETHNICITY .Hispanic Americans are more resistant .Black Americans more susceptible to illness and death -GENDER -Females more resilient, live longer (5 yrs), but live sicker -Females have significantly higher risk of osteoporosis -Heart Disease accounts for 25% of U.S. deaths -Men twice as likely as women to have a heart attack
