Q

Crystallisation

A

A liquid changing into its solid form. The solution is warmed in an open container to allow it to evaporate. As the solution is cooling, the solid will come out of the solution and crystals will start to grow.

Q

Chromatography

A

A method used to dissolve substances from one another. It is often used when the substances have colour like ink. 2 substances will be the same if they produce the same colour spot and that travels the same distance up the paper

A

Method used to separate a liquid from a mixture with 2 or more liquids. It works as each liquid will have a different boiling point, so when it is heated one liquid will evaporate before the other
