What is an organisation?
An organisation is a group of people who come together to achieve a common goal or set of objectives.
What are the main activities of a business?
Management, production, marketing products, controlling production, forecasting sales, expenses and profit, planning, distributing goods and services and organising natural, capitol and human resources.
Management.
Organising the businesses limited resources in order to achieve specific goals. E.g. the owner buys a new machine that makes coffee faster and saves on labour.
Production.
Creating products.
Marketing products.
Advertising the good or service. For example an online store that shows what is available to purchase.
Controlling production.
The quantity and quality of the products.
Forecasting sales, expenses and profit.
Predicting your future sales, expenses and profit. For example a café changes to a supplier who provides cheaper coffee.
Planning.
Planning the finances, production and business needs.
Distributing goods and services.
For example the owner employs a delivery business to transport products to various customers for a price.
Organising natural, capitol and human resources.
For example separate rosters are drawn up for all of the employees.
