Interest Groups vs Political Party
They both seek to influence policy but, Interest Groups do not run candidates for office.
Collective goods
Things of value that may not be withheld from a non-member of the interest group.
Benefits Interest Group Activity
It brings together people with a common interest to advance their interest in Congress, etc.
Drawback Interest Group Activity
Interest groups make claims on society that can increase the cost of public policies. (ex. adding extra safety to cars brings up the cost of them)
What makes an effective lobbyist?
Providing accurate and valuable information
