Spinning of the on its axis; used to measure time in days
Revolution
Motion of the earth around the sun; used to measure time in years

Path of earths orbit around the sun; from earth, seen as the path that the sun travels across the Zodiac
Solstice
Occurs twice in one year- tilt most towards or away from the sun
Equinox
Occurs twice a year- perpendicular to a line connecting the center of the earth to the center of the sun

Changing appearance of the moon as viewed from earth

Occurs during the new moon when earth enters the moons umbra and casts a shadow on the earths surface

Occurs during the full moon. Moon enters the earths umbra and earth cats a curved shadow on the moons surface

Relatively flat, dark colored regions on the moons surface
Regolith
Layers do debris on the moons surface formed by the accumulation of meteoric material
