Why does anaemia develop?

A

Reduced erythropoietin production so reduced stimulation of RBC production by bone marrow

A

Give EPO with iron

What is the management?

A

Treat underlying disease
Reduce CV risk - statins, BP, weight loss, smoking
Reduce proteinuria - ACEi/ARB
At late stages discus RRT
