What you like about the job.
Problems: I like the job because it involves solving the kinds of problems that interesting, forever challenging, and that I know how to solve. I like the work.
KU: The work is connected to something incredible, with furthering KU and showing people why they should be a part of that. KU is everything I like about higher education, only bigger.
KUE reputation: I love the job because of the reputation that KUE has for caring about people, caring about diversity, and caring about integrity and fidelity to donor.
What you like about KUE.
I love the way it cares about KU (higher education), it cares about people, and that it does things with integrity.
What you can do for them.
I have the ability to take on a new role, one that has not been done before, and take make it into something that better serves the organization as a whole and the people who I work with.
What’s a last question for us?
Do you want this to be a caretaker position, someone who will who will maintain the status quo, or do you want someone who is never going to stop looking for ways to improve quality?
I think I see what you are after. You’ve created a new position and you want better results that you can see on the page, not just more of the same.
I’m going to point out a few things that I would clean up starting on day one.
Weaker ledes – non sequitur.
Images that are featured that are not feature worthy.
Layouts that aren’t as dynamic as they could be.
In social media are you allowing punctuation errors?
Small things like on the bottom of every web page, do all the links work and has the copyright year been updated.
Bigger things, like are you giving your readers the kinds of images and stories and even fun so that you are truly coffee table worthy and not pitched?
What I want to do is essentially aim for the the kind of quality that you achieved. I want that kind of dynamism, positive emotion, and focus on the hero, the person who donates and makes KU better, which makes the region better and the world better.
So, caretaker or relentless commitment to quality? If you are completely happy with what you have, I am not the person for you. If you want relentless, I think I would be a great fit.
