Define Color Wheel
a visual diagram showing the relationships of colors next to and opposite each other
What are the primary colors?
Red, Yellow, Blue
What are the secondary colors?
Orange, Green, Violet
Define tertiary colors?
(Also called intermediate colors) each of these is a mix of a primary color and a secondary color on the color wheel
What are examples of tertiary colors?
Red-Orange
Yellow-Orange
Yellow-Green
Blue-Green
Red-Violet
Blue-Violet
Define Complementary Colors
Colors that are opposite of each other
What are the complementing colors?
Red:Green
Blue:Orange
Yellow:Violet
Define Value
The lightness or darkness of a color
Define Intensity
How vibrant or bright the color is
Define Tint
Adding white to a color
Define Shade
Adding black to a color
Define Analogous Colors
3 or 4 colors that are next to each other on the color wheel
How do you make complementary colors?
mixing
