Question 2

What CIDS entries shall be made for a single building with multi-number address range posted? (i.e when a single building has its address posted as 100-110 Main Street)

Answer 2

A CIDS entry must be made for each applicable address number listed within the multi-number address range. Prior to entering a CIDS for 100-110 Main Street, the officer will anger ALL numbers within that range into the fdny BIS separately (100,101,…..109,110)

What’s CIDS information must be submitted for interconnected, attached buildings & complexes with separate addresses?

Answer 3

A separate CIDS entry must be submitted for each address.

i.e a complex is identified as 81-85 Main Street, but is a series of 3 separate buildings with separate house numbers (81,83,85 Main st). A CIDS entry would be submitted for 81, 83, and 85 main st with the “transmitted data” portion of each CIDS entry indicating the number of buildings in the complex

One for each address AND one for the AKA

Transmitted data is the portion of he CIDS that will appear on the teleprinter and MUST BE listed in the following order:

1) FD Designation (BWSTRG, CFRH,PG, etc)
2) Occupancy
3) Description of Building (CL2LW, CL3LW, CL4LW all recently added)
4) Description of dangerous, hazardous or unusual conditions
5) MINRESP followed by a space then 2 digit number representing the number of engines and ladders
