What are the 5 skill-related components of fitness
Balance, Power, Agility, Coordination and Reaction Time
The ability to maintain centre of mass over a base of support
Balance
The combination of Speed and Strength(both physical components of fitness)
Power
Also known as Elastic Strength
The balance where the performer is still.
Static balance
The balance where the performer is moving and maintaining the centre of mass, like a cartwheel
Dynamic balance
How is power given?
As the amount of work done in a unit of time
The ability to quickly and precisely move or change direction without losing balance or time
Agility
The smooth flow of movement and control over ones body
Coordination
The time it takes for a sports performer to respond to a stimulus and initiate their response
Reaction time
What is meant by ‘stimulus’
A stimulus is change in the environment
