What are the two types of translocations and define them

A
  1. Balanced (reciprocal): identified by chance

2. Unbalanced: have a combination of monosome and trisome (picked up early)

A

Occurs between acrocentric chromosomes

A loss of the non-critical genes in the short arm (p) regions
