Fibre content (natural or synthetic fibres?) // fabric construction (woven or knitted or non woven?) // manufacturing processes (dyeing or printing or physical or chemical finishing?) // maintenance (aftercare requirements)
What is combining fabrics?
When fabrics can be layered and combined to improve their handle, appearance or performance
What are the examples of combining fabrics?
A quilted fabric has two or more layers sewn together to give an attractive appearance and added warmth // Gore-Tex can be laminated to another fabric using adhesive or heat
What do you have to consider when designing?
Who you are designing for // the target market // any financial constraints // profit to be gained // volume to be produced
