Definition of Development in Geography?
Refers to the standard of living and its quality of life of its human inhabitants. Development is the process of change whereby people lives will get better.
What does the Human Development Index consist of?
Adult Literacy

Life Expectancy
Life Expectancy at Birth?
The average number of years to be lived by a group of people born in the same year.
Birth Rate?
Number of live babies born per 1000 per year.
Labour force by occupation?
The percentage of people employed in sectors: agriculture, services, industries
Median Age?
This is the age that divided the population into to equal groups one being higher and one being lower.
Fertility Rate?
The average number of children that would be born per woman if all women lived to the end of their child bearing age.
GNI per Capita?
The total amount of income received by the country from its residents and businesses regardless if they are located in the country or abroad.
Education Expenditure?
Percentage of GDP spent on education.
Infant Mortality?
Number of deaths of infants under 1 year per 1000 live births.
