Q

how substrate becomes products

A

substrate collides with active site. reaction takes place. products are formed

Q

temperature on enzymes

A

give enzyme molecules and substrate more kinetic energy to collide more frequently. more collisions = more reactions per unit time. The optimum temperature is where enzymes work the best and have the fastest rate of reaction. after this point enzymes denature permanently changing the shape of the active site and so it can no longer act as a catalyst for the raction

Q

pH on enzymes

A

enzymes have an optimum pH. when outside of the optimum activity decreases and active sites denature
