Chapter 6, Lanyons voice is uncontrolled showing how shaken he is, the audience is shocked as lanyon goes from friendly to agitated and leaves an ominous effect.

Chapter 9, Dr lanyon would like to repress the supernatural event he witnessed. As a victorian scientist he cannot reconcile what he has understood with his rational mind with his sense of morality. Regards Jekyll as dead.
