How do local anesthetics work
Injected into a nerve bundle they block sodium channels preventing action potential conduction
How does nerve gas work
Inhibits enzyme that breaks down ACh (cholinesterase), causing muscarinic SLUDGE effects

Atropine (muscarinic blocker)
How does propranolol work, what does it treat
A beta receptor blocker as a result it slows the heart, high blood pressure angina
What drug is a nasal decongestant that affects the sympathetic nervous system; how?
phenylephrine, alpha receptor agonist

Bradycardia (slow heart rate) low blood pressure, beta agonist in the sympathetic division, NE is the NT
