and not to him or them, whom I may hear it so to be , but unto him, and them only whom I shall find so to be after strict trial, do examination or lawful information.

I furthermore promise and swear that I will not write, indite, print, paint, stamp, stain, cut, carve, engrave, inlay, or enamel the same upon anything, movable, or immovable under the canopy of heaven, capable of receiving the least impression of a word, syllable, or letter, mark figure, or character, that may become legible or illeligible to myself or any other person Whereby the secrets of Freemasonry might be lawfully obtain.

All of which I solemnly promised, and squared to keep and perform without the lease equivocation, mental, reservation, or secret invasion of the mind, binding myself under the penalty of having my throat cut from ear to ear, tongue tore out by its roots, and my body burned in rough sands of the sea, a cable tows length from shore where The tide ebbs and flows twice in 24 hours, should I normally or willingly violate or transgress any of my part of my obligation so help me God and keep me steadfast.

34
Q

After the obligation, what was asked you?

A

In my then condition, what I most desired.

Q

How are they explained?

A

The Holy Bible - The great light in Masonary, we take as our rule and guide to our faith and practice .

The square- to square our actions by the square of virtue,

While the compasses- teach us to the circumstances of our desires, and keep our passions within due bounds.

40
Q

What are the lesser lights.

A

The sun, moon and worshipful master.

41
Q

How are they represented?

A

By ( 3 ) burning Tapirs placed in a triangle form in the lodge room.

42
Q

How explained?

A

That the SUN rules the day, the MOON governs the night, so should the WORSHIPFUL MASTER rules and govern the lodge or cause the same to be done by his officers.

43
Q

Wha what did you next behold?

A

The worshipful master approaching from the East, upon the step, under the Due guard and penal sign of an entered Mason, who extend to me his right hand, and token a friendship and brotherly, love, and prayer to instruct me the grip, and the word of the Entered apprentice Mason then told me to rise and salute the wardens as an entered, apprentice Mason and turn to the East.

44
Q

Upon turning to the east, what did you behold?

A

The Worshipful Master again approaching me from the east, who presented to me the lambkin, or white leather apron, and told me that if it was an emblem of innocence and the badge of a mason, more ancient then the golden fleece or Roman eagle. More honorable than Star and Garter of any other order that could be me converred at this or any future., By king, prince, or potentate, or person, except he be a mason, which she hoped I would wear with equal pleasure to myself, and honor the fraternity. Told me to cure it to the senior warden, who taught me how to wear it as an entered apprentice Mason.

45
Q

How does an inter-apprentice Mason wear their aprons?

A

With the bib turned up.

46
Q

Why did they wear them this way?

A

We are taught in the building of King Solomon Temple,
Entered . apprentices, were to wear their bibs, turned up, preventing, them from soiling their clothes, but this teaches us not to tamper with the untempered mortar.

47
Q

How are you been disposed of?

A

I was placing northeast corner of the lodge, my feet, forming a right angle, my body erect, facing the worshipful master, who told me that having so short of time since I’ve been made a mason, it was impossible that I could have materially ERD, and that I should do it, and just an upright mason, and have given me strictly in charge even to walk and act as such.

The 24 inch gauge is an instrument used by operative masons to measure and layout their work

Those wee is free excepted Masons are taught to make use of it more notable and glorious purpose of dividing our time. It being divide in 24 equal parts is equates to 24 hours of the day, which is taught divided three parts.
Whereby we find a portion of services
of God and a distressed worthy brother,
a portion of our usual locations, and
a portion for refreshment and sleep.

The common gavel is an instrument used by an operative mason to break off the rough and superfluous parts of stones, to better fit them for builders to use but we are free as an accepted Masons are taught to make it more notable and glorious purpose of investing our minds, and consciousness of all vices, and superfluities of life. thereby fitting ourselves as living stones for that spiritual building, that house not made by hands, internal in the heavens.
