what is the equation for power
power = energy transferred / time power = work done / time power = potential difference × current power = (current)2 × resistance
what is the equation for efficiency
efficiency = useful output energy / total input energy efficiency = useful power output / total power input
what is the equation for wave speed
wave speed = frequency × wavelength
what is the equation for charge flow
charge flow = current × time
what is the equation for PD
potential difference = current × resistance
what is the equation for energy transferred
energy transferred = power × time
energy transferred = charge flow × potential difference
Why is a system not 100% efficient?
Some energy is always wasted
In a light bulb, 25J of energy is supplied. 5J are usefully transferred into light energy.
What is the efficiency of the bulb?
5/25 = 0.2 x100 = 20%
What is a renewable resource?
One that won’t run out - we can replace as fast as we use it.
What is finite resource?
One that will run out (non-renewable)
