16
Q

What are the sources for X-rays?

A

The sun and an x ray machine

17
Q

What are the effects on the body for X-ray?

A

It causes radiation damage

18
Q

What is one use for X-rays?

A

To view the internal structure of items

19
Q

What are the sources for gamma rays?

A

Anything radioactive and the sun

20
Q

What do gamma rays do to the body?

A

They kill every cell in the human body

21
Q

What is a main use for gamma rays?

A

Sterilising food and medical equipment

22
Q

How do X-rays work?

A

When electrons hit a metal plate and their kinetic energy is transferred into x-rays

23
Q

How do x-rays produce images?

A

As an x ray can scan white parts of an image greatly and the black parts terribly, the image is able to be reflected back into an x ray machine in which the image is scanned, then produced.

24
Q

What are the advantages of x rays?

A

.You can view the internal structure of the body

.x-rays are non-invasive- you don’t need to cut up someone’s body to see what’s wrong with them

25
Q

What are the disadvantages of x-rays?

A

.They can cause cancer

.They can cause cell damage

.They cannot view soft tissue, such as the internal organs
