Q

How does the lock and key model work?

A
  • Substrates will go into the enzyme’s active site.
  • This will form an enzyme-substrate complex.
  • The enzyme will either separate or join the substrates.
  • The enzyme will release the product.
  • The enzyme will have an empty active site(s) and can be used again.
