Ergonomics Flashcards
Safety notes
The Study of implementing safety and comfort in the workplace. Preventing repetitive injuries in the work place including: work stations, tools, & Equipment.
Ergonomics
Affect the muscles, nerves, blood vessels, ligaments, and tendons.
Muscular skeletal disorders (MSDs)
A condition of repetitive actions, typically with hands, causes pain or impairment in tendons and muscles involved.
Repetitive Strain Injury RSI
The main Way to reduce the risk is to stop or reduce the intensity of the activity.
Prevention of RSI
Devise used to prevent Carpel Tunnel Syndrome.
Wrist Rest
Painful Compression of a nerve as it passes across the front of the wrist.
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
The fluid-filled sac near a knee, elbow, or shoulder joint becomes inflamed and swollen.
Bursitis
A tendon becomes inflamed.
Tendonitis
Cellular degeneration of collagen results within the tendons, due to overuse.
Tendinosis
