Informed consent

A

Researcher should tell potential participants exactly what is going to happen to them in the research, it’s aim, what they will do with the findings and how the participants can withdraw if they no longer want to take part

Deception

A

Researchers shouldn’t lie or mislead participants about something to do with the study. However if the study is not possible, researchers must inform participants as soon as possible if any have occurred

Debriefing

A

Participants should be informed about the true aims of the study at the end of the investigation, thanked for their participation and checked to ensure that they will not suffer outside of the study.
